The Process

Step 1: Discovery & Planning

To do well online, you have to know what your competition is doing, and do things better. CjGraphix does targeted searches around specific key words to see what your direct competition is doing. Sometimes it is good to mimic some of your competition, and other times it is good to do something more.

Without Goals, how can any project be measured? Different sites have very different goals. Some only want a contact form to be filled out, while others want to increase orders, and others only care of traffic. Goals can be different, but goals must be determined.

The Process

Step 2: Structure & Functionality

Let the site maps begin. In this step CJGraphix looks at your site from several different angles. From content, to the overall site, to the individual pages, to an actual user, each structure is handled different to achieve your specific project goals.

Content can be hard to write, but it is extremely important. It doesn't have to start pretty, or organized, but it has to start somewhere. While Step 3: can begin without a lot of content, it is impossible to finish a site without content. Content is king, and yours should rule!

The overall site is based on a 'site-map'. This map is a guide to your site, and is instrumental in the success of your project. Basic functionality is flushed out here, and a clear path is set to structure of your site.

Once the overall site has been mapped out, it is time to focus on the individual pages. From one page to another, some things should remain constant, while others change dramatically. Sometimes it is more budget conscious to create page sets, where are page is given one of several page layouts with specific content requirements.

The Process

Step 3: Design Exploration

So begins the creative process. This is the time where CJGraphix turns all site maps, and planning into something with organic style. Following the site goals and objectives CJGraphix creates concept designs, which are turned into mock-ups, and finally online templates.

Conceptual design can take place on a napkin, just be sure to keep that napkin though! These are thumbnails, and are typically just some basic shapes to show layout and structure. Half the time clients never see these as there are so many to choose from. It isn't until the Mock-Ups that clients start giving approval.

Mock-Ups are more than just concepts. They include content, images, layout and color theory, just to name a few. Everything is done in image editing software, and nothing is actually functional. These designs flush out potential bottlenecks during production.

Once a mock-up is approved it goes into a online template. The Basic CSS is worked out, and any browser issues are initially addressed. By the end of the online template, each page is available through general navigation even if no content is included.

The Process

Step 4: Production & Development

This is the most time consuming, and budget crunching portion of any project. It is up to CJGraphix to make it all work, and get it done on time and on budget.

All the content gets styled via CSS, and all pages receive there correct content. Any of the CJG Applications are installed at this point and checked for functionality. Any special customization also gets done in this phase.

Once initial production and development are completed the site is moved to an approval status.

The Process

Step 5: Launch & Beyond

Once the site is approved it goes into a beta launch phase. Even after the launch CJGraphix is there for your project. Building a successful website takes time and adjustments, and for a period of thirty days after launch CJGraphix will make those adjustments to end up with a better product.

Even after that, CJGraphix is always available. At this point all requests are billed, on either an hourly rate for minor adjustments or a whole new project gets created and quoted on a per project basis.
